Instrument Rating on Cessna 172 or Piper Tomahawk PA-38
Our Instrument Training is conducted in both aircraft and an F.A.A approved Advanced
Aviation Training Device (A.A.T.D) Modular Flight Deck (M.F.D). Our Simulator is
the absolute latest in flight training devices and offers the perfect learning environment
for a multitude of Instrument Flight training situations and approach scenarios
and is in fact so advanced that it is approved by the FAA to be used for the Instrument
practical flight test. The aircraft we use for the Instrument rating are the Cessna
172-P & Piper PA-28 and for Multi Engine Instrument a Piper Seneca PA-34.
General Requirements - Instrument rating:
- Hold at least a private pilot certificate.
- Be able to read, speak and understand the English language.
- Obtain at least a current third-class FAA medical certificate.
- Pass the FAA Instrument Written Exam as well as the FAA practical flight test.

Flight Requirements - Instrument rating:
- At least 50 hours of cross country flight time as pilot in command
- Minimum of 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time:
At least 15 hours of instrument flight training from an authorized flight instructor
Note: 15 hours of instrument flight instruction by an authorized instructor is the
minimum set by the Federal Aviation Administration. Most pilots will require more
flight time to be prepared for the practical test.
